Kamek org balit kg tok: home (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡

Home? But we're not home yet? Yes, this place we flew to after Kuching was once the place we called our home. It was the place where our maknae was born~

So, the other half of DAY IV we spent was at MIRI! It brings back so many memories, but the city has changed quite a lot with new buildings and routes that we can no longer recognize if not told by our dad who has frequently visited it until recent years.
Checked in to the hotel to put away our luggage first at Pullman, which is also located by the waterfront, then shot to go around visiting the places we had in our childhood memories. To see how much they've changed and what was still there... ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂)⸝

The first one was the primary school we attended; SRK Lutong where mom taught, too. Well, for me it was just half a year of being a student there haha. It used to be a school mostly made of wooden buildings, but look at it now! Almost could be a private one at that~ our preschool; Tadika Petronas was located behind the school, also made of a wooden house but I believe it's no longer there...
.the preschool looks somehow like this (there's the primary school peaking behind).

Then going around the housing area where Shell's people stayed that has now turned into bushes like no one used to be there at all. If not for the traces of the junctions, you won't even notice there was something there in the past.

Dad drove along the beach before making it to the Petronas office's building that has also changed and felt smaller? Lol, maybe because there's a new block in front and we're bigger now? (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝) and onto the last location, the most important one, the house we stayed in, in the Pujut area~
This housing area was mostly resided by our people if I'm not mistaken~ so, every Eid, we'd be visiting each other's house from one end to the other, and that includes our house... that was so lively, happening and enjoyable! Even though, we were just meeting and talking to the same people lol. Aaa, the house we stayed in was renovated by the current owner into a modern style but the ones beside ours still maintained their classic structure. Another one that felt quite big when we were younger but now it can't top our current stay heee. I meant we remember it being huge though lol.

.the one we used to call home.
.our neighbour's.
psst: so actually ours didn't changed much after looking more at it and the neighbour's, it's just that the new residence extended the top front part a bit then added some porch and had it newly painted

Miri is a small city it took us only less than half a day to get to all these places. haha, you'll also be using the same routes! Oh, almost forgot about the club where we used to go and spend our weekend evenings for a swim (if not to the beach or watching airplanes at the airport), the Gymkhana... this, again, felt a lot smaller now as well hee but wow, it's still at the same place beside the graveyard that is actually for the victims of the world war and the club is already 100+ years old??

The childhood memory tour ended with us going to the mall where we chilled out, too, cause maknae wanted to get some local football club jerseys as his souvenirs haha. Didn't know where to eat for dinner, so we had it at the hotel and that was how our DAY IV went.

.ate this at the hotel, suddenly am craving for these banana balls filled with choc.

DAY V: oil well visit, MIRI > KL
I know right? The real ending of our trip is coming closer. We decided to just stay here for a day cause we knew there was nothing much to do but it was also not a waste since dad brought us to visit the first ever or the oldest oil well, founded in Miri~ but first, stopped by at the waterfront for some touristy photos haha

.the view seen from our room was actually the oil well.
.eiii the homeboi.
.see, our hotel was really near to the waterfront, right?.
It was the right time for us now, at this age, to go there as we were definitely soooo excited and interested in knowing more about it rather than if we went there when we were just small kids... absolutely no guide needed anymore to explain the things with our dad there haha. The project he used to work on was also displayed there with a nice replica model of the platform! Now, we know more about how his work is~ ʕ•͡-•ʔ

/\ the project he did \/
.the place where he said there's always good ice creams haha.

/\ dad said this part is best explained by our oldest sister since it's the work of a geologist \/
.dad in his element.

Looked like there was nothing at the museum but we spent a little bit over an hour. It was not too short or too long for us as dad helped explain things which is even clearer and fun to understand if compared to just reading them. By the time we were out, the clouds got darker but we had the chance to take some photos for the memories and admire the no 1 oil well at Canada Hill also known as the Grand Old Lady.
Only when I saw the photos of these yummies in my gallery that I reminded of the breakfast we had at one of the local kopitiams earlier in the morning before the visit~ Was a last-minute search the night before and luckily found this gem; M Kopitiam with satisfactory reviews attracted us to give it a try. I must say, it's pretty decent for a return~

Back to the hotel after a nice knowledgeable visit to check out and to find the jersey again at another mall haha. The rain finally poured down (we parked outdoors) so we got some ice cream (sadly no apong here at the mall hee) while waiting for it to stop to go back to reality (go to the airport). (·•᷄‎ࡇ•᷅ )

Okay, my bad, another one forgotten... we went for a kek lapis shopping for a while before the mall since it's located just in front of our hotel~ wanted to go for the Kek Lapis Warisan (bought this previously) but they're no longer there in Miri (based in Kuching) hence trying the new one we found suggested online too; Kek Lapis Siti Payung which is said to be better than Habibi (we've also tried it before).

We actually had some extra time dad decided to go for a quick detour to my oldest sister's secondary school which also she only attended for half a year haha. Almost missed it as we got the wrong school but found it after maknae tried to search for its name properly~ it was also near the beach (not the one in Lutong) and just a few minutes away from the airport. Before reaching her school, which looks sooo pretty and spacious now almost like our primary school, we needed to pass by the housing area (I forgot the name) that houses big mansions with huge lands that some are so pretty with their own farms just beside the house.

-

Eventually, the time had come~ we were at the airport and ready to be back and reached our home sweet home at around 2100. We were welcomed with drizzles here which made us feel so homey and cozy that it was a little less melancholy. (♡ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈)
