Let's go Cafe Hopping Date: KB ed.

Tuesday, September 5, 2023

After years of not stepping into Kelate, we are now back~ and more to that is for foooood! The last time we were there, we got to go to a cafe only that was one such cool nice cafe. So, this time around we put our trust in that there'll be more tasty ones and did not disappoint us, well for some haha. Let's get it started, shall we?

THE CAFES:
+ THE LAYERS πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€
The ambiance was so cozy that it made us feel sleepy after a walk under the sun haha, parking was quite easy for us to get, and the food was decent but unfortunately, their desserts were not as good as their food. We got a blondie and a cheesecake for desserts but it was rather hard to bite or cut, thankfully the M&Ms boosted the flavour, while it's not as fluffy for the latter. The drinks were okay, though. We brought home a mini gula hangus and a mango panna cotta which made it up for the ones we had at the cafe. I'm sure there are some others that are as good as the take-outs we had.

What we had > Beef Shakshouka, Fettuccine Alfredo, Scone, M&M Blondie, Hanjuku Cheesecake, Mini Gula Hangus, Mango Panna Cotta, Hot Latte, Bandung Coconut Cream (I guess? I forgot haha cause not mine), Mojitos (Lime Blueberry & Pink Flamingo)
.we only knew that it's connected to the art street nearby lol.
+ NASKEN COFFEE πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€♡
It was okay, with the same concept of Starbucks that they offer a wide variety of choices from the light ones to the heavy ones and also desserts, but their pastries especially the croissant, was a bit off where it actually almost a failed one, no texture and layerings hehe but the taste is okay... good to try a local brand, right? Oh, this one wasn't on the list btw~
.look at the pitiful croissant.
What we had > Donut, Roti Bakar, Croissant drizzled with Butterscotch, Chocolate Roll, Half-boiled Egg, Hot Latte, Iced Rose Latte (but I think they mistakenly only made a roasted latte hmm), Iced Chocolate

+ SNOWTOWN πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€♡
Listed a few other icy cafes but chose this one instead because the others are almost like snow bingsu and they actually have a branch here in KL but this one is the shaved ice so yeah~ the place was cute but not the parking spaces! We circled around for some time then finally got one. Almost gave up and looked for its other branch which is further. The food was so-so okay but the spicy fries were nice haha

What we had > Milk Snow Ice with Mango, Chocolate Snow Ice with Mango Banana, Chicken Chop, Spicy Fries, Mineral Water (to neutralise things) and we had some baby pancakes from a truck located just outside (Chocolate, Cadbury, Biscoff, Matcha)
+ SUPERDOUGH B. πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€♡
Almost a perfect score cause the food was the best out of all we visited but half a point down is because some items weren't ready even at 10am. Mind that they actually open at 9am. Luckily, the one that's available still can make up for the not-ready ones. We got a grilled sandwich and woah, that's really grilled I can say... the taste is there! The interior is minimalist and modern... there were more seats outdoor.
.we thought this churros cruffin got no filling hehe.
.lil bro's double chocolate is really full of choc, nice.

What we had > Tuna Grilled Cheese Sandwich (although I don't really like tuna but I definitely did devour it xD), Cruffins (OG & Churros), Double Chocolate Croissant, Hot Chocolate, Mocktails (Pink Guava & Lychee Yuzu)

+ DAUGHTERBAKES πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€
Four loves only cause we almost can't make it. I meant to properly try it since this was the last one we went to and only managed to tapau. Were full from breakfast at Superdough but still wanna taste their tarts, so tapau it is. Their tarts and canelΓ© were great and psst, the canelΓ© is definitely much better than the infamous one here in KL (B***** iykyk)~
What we had (or more to like what tarts we tapau) > Pistachio, Lime Peach, Berry, Almond Vanilla, OG CanelΓ© (not a tart), Choux (I forgot the name but it's a choux hehe)
Haven't tasted their drinks and main dishes yet, hopefully, we can do so next time. Oh, oh, if we knew we'd have a lot of time after checking out from the hotel, surely, we'd come here, after and not before... lol. We successfully brought them through the flight back here by hand carry, yeay hehe~

THE RESTAURANTS:
+ KOPITIAM KITA πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€♡
As I posted previously, we reached there late morning so quite a lot of things were gone already but we still got our roti titab, only the original ones even though now they have the pandan ones. It was quite easy to get a table while the place was packed as usual. We were there in 2016 with our oldest sister so this time around, just wanna bring our parents and lil bro to have a try hehe.
What we had > Roti Titab, Nasi Impit, Pulut Pagi, Satay, Roti Bakar, Half-boiled Egg, Mini Apam (that doesn't even have s single drop of fillings now hmm), Purple Sengkuang Dumpling (?), Iced Nescafe, Iced Milo, Iced & Hot Teh Tarik (lol, I actually don't know the exact names ya, just writing based on what I can described them as xD)

+ FOUR SEASONS πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€
Again, this wasn't listed in the list I told you about. We looked for it on Google and saw reviews and luckily it turned out okay and acceptably delicious but the portions were wayyyyy too big for us! Pricewise is okay and almost the same with KL but at least you got fresh seafood here and again they came in big sizes. The calamari almost can be made into my bracelet lol kidding but yeah~ it was like we were having a makan besar y'know.
. I think that's the owner and also the chef who came to to us that day.
What we had > Ikan 3 Rasa, Beef Budu (?), Four Treasures Vegetables, Oyster Pancake, Buttermilk set (?, that consists of lala and prawns in mantou, deep fried calamari, and fish skins in a plate), Chinese Pancake as a dessert which wasn't captured I just realised.

We initially thought that the buttermilk set only comes in a small portion with only prawns and some fish skins but not xD!

+ SIAM RESTORAN IKAN BAKAR & THAI STREET FOOD πŸ–€πŸ–€
Got here cause of some recommendations I saw online saying it was the best but nope nope nope. Sorry, not to our expectations. The taste was just so-so-hmm-ok. Will we be there again? You know the answer. So, don't put high expectations even if you see quite a lot of them recommending things alright? haha
What we had > Ikan I can't remember, Telur Dadar asked for no vege but still came with onions, Perut Bakar which we thought were the normal ones, not the gopchang style that we had never eaten before, Daging Harimau Menangis, Miang Pla which is okay cause what can go wrong with grilled fish and some raw vegetables and vermicelli right, Maggie Goreng, Pulut Pauh, Roti Pisang Nutella and drinks I can't remember haha

+ YATI AYAM PERCIK πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€
A nice place by the roadside that is also not on my list but planned it last minute after seeing reviews on Google again and a trusted one lol. One thing is the parking space, can be hard to find during the peak hour though cause only limited spaces available. We came earlier and we easily found one. Another thing is it can be a bit hazy even if you eat inside a room they made with closed doors when they're grilling the ayam. Love it but a tad bit sweet for me hehe and the parts given were quite big I had to share mine~

.yeah, no nasi for we didn't want any.

What we had > Nasi Ulam Ayam Percik, Ayam Percik and Solok Lada

This time, we did go to a lot more cafes than the one in Dungun but we still have more on the list. Will there be a second part? :D But first, see you in the next post of my fit as usual. The post is already too long so I couldn't put it here together in a post~
