Triple the trouble.

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

Nahhh... it's not the troubles but instead the celebrations. Derived from double the trouble quote, ya know? hehe and hi there again readers~ How's your 2020 so far? It's already the 3rd chapter and yet here I am writing for the 2nd cause I missed the timing last week. πŸ™Š
February is again a celebration month for me as there are 3 people of mine have their birthdays last month. Oh, but before we got into the party(s), lemme just summarize what did I do first.

So, earlier last month (indeed a very early one, we spent the 'turning chapter' somewhere else) we went to Kuantan cause my dad has received a wedding invitation of his friend's child in Kerteh and parents decided to stay at Kuantan just because, as it's also not very far to travel back and forth (but of course using the highway xD).

psst: we stayed at Zenith Hotel btw, the location is right in the center just opposite the east coast mall! Their food was aroi maak, too. ^^

My sister, lil bro and I went for a cafe tour to explore the city while our parents attending the wedding. We went to basically just two cafes (but it's actually one cause they are next doors cafe and we can order dishes from another cafe and eat in another cafe, you got me?). Okay, the cafes were KOKO Cafe and 90 Degrees. Yeap, I also only knew about it when we reached the place haha. It's actually good too that we can save more time. Then, we went for one-round bowling game then felt like eating ice creams for dessert but to our disappointment, the ice cream place we wanted to go has shut down. Back to the mall just opposite of our hotel to get Sangkaya cause it said they are there but again it's closed down, too! γ…  In the end, we found ourselves just enjoying chocolatey bites at Molten Chocolate. lol.

+ koko 4/ 5
why: their pasta, dessert and drink is okay plus the place is pinkish but lack of good lighting for photos.

+ 90 degrees 2.5/ 5
why: their steak is not juicy, to say really dry and hard to chew, it's very tiring and painful for the jaw lol but but! more mark definitely goes to their quesadilla it's πŸ‘πŸ».

+ molten chocolate 5/ 5
why: definitely didn't disappoint us after 2 shut downs, and it's tasty as dip n dip. Enjoyed every bits of it! no more words~

The next day before we depart back to KL, went to two more craze places there: Kula Cakes and Dofi Donut. Went to Dofi first. The place was quite decently decorated with neon lights and also mini donuts on the board hung on the wall and stuff but yeah just that. Their donuts don't look any different from other places that people need to spread words saying people need to try as it only is available in Kuantan tho. xD
Kula's queue was no joke! I meant it's long until we have to queue from outside their bakery. And as I thought cause it's too full inside, when in reality by the time we reached the door, what it made customers have to queue was because their space was so tiny enough for 5(?) customers to be in. No wonder they have a special area for dine ins which is beside their shop and I think they took up another unit of the shop and made it as an outdoor eating place but with a nice greeny ambience. The one you guys often see people posted photos with their logo murals, yeap that's the area.

why: no offence, but the doughnuts they displayed or made are a bit out of shapes. I meant if they are the ones people said we need to try, means they need to control their quality right? Also, from what I encountered, their staffs weren't so friendly and one of them even said something arrogantly when my mom picked their so-called signature or must-try flavour: Cheese leleh or something like that and told the price. I meant yeah hello... we know the price, if we want it then we want it. You don't have to make it like we can't have it? Luckily we got pretty well-shaped donuts and my mom said the taste of the signature one wasn't so bad but lol their donut is quite lembik too? No, not lembik lembik but like more to under proved? And also a bit more oily than others I've tried... So, if you want to have it in a better texture and fluffiness (when you should get it on the 1st) wait till the 3rd day? heee

why: again, nothing fancy but of course we're there to try their signature mango cheesecake and ended up buying almost all of their desserts haha. I tried their Nutella Cheesecake (wow! I didn't actually like to eat chilled cheesecake but for the sake of trying), brownies and also peanut butter pie. Other than that, we also got ourselves red velvet, pavlova and bread butter pudding which ended up no one eating it cause there's a mark where someone has scooped it before and none of us even touched it yet! Their brownie is quite okay and gooey but! the outer part is quite hard until it broke the plastic fork I used lol but still good. Nutella cheesecake is okay if eaten with the Nutella part cause as I stated before I'm not a cheesecake person. The peanut butter pie is like in the form of mousse so ok-ok but not my style hehe. Andddd for their mango cheesecake my sis said it's okay but they didn't give enough mango sauce for it. Btw, we didn't eat it there but brought it back home (fuhh, that's a lot of buts) and a bonus point for them is that they asked if we wanted to bring it back to outside Kuantan or not as they prepare the one that's frozen and wrapped nicely in a foil for us (but only applies to mango cheesecake ya hehe). Maybe because they know a lot of their customers are not from Kuantan, too.

I think we're done with that and let's continue with the birthday girls and boy. Yeah a boi, a CEO, too. lol. Let's just go along with the photos as usual.

why: the ambience is so nice and of course their food, too! So fullfilling~ The portion was quite big to eat alone so next time we go there again, will surely share like at any other places cause we can't eat everything. Too full! Lil bro enjoyed his properly cooked sirloin after what happened at 90 degrees. xD Parents were satisfied with it and they even played a birthday song when I request them to just bring out the cake to my mom. Lesser people were there during our celebration so it was so much fun cause it felt a bit private and we got to enjoy the time. Just then when we're finishing, more people were coming so our timing was good haha. Lost point due to the menus unavailability that made us need to change for a few times even after we've pre-ordered them.

.birthday of ma twin~.
It was a surprise party. Luckily, my parents had to attend a wedding invite again so we got to be there without them knowing and also how my dad brought mom here? Mom said he told her that they are going for a detour something like that haha. Thought my dad just gonna spill it but no he even gives a good excuse, too. He sometimes likes to just go for an impromptu one so it's definitely unnoticeable if he said that. kkk. So, I can say this is also a successful surprise. This is somehow indirectly to celebrate my older sister's too but not officially. Will she get an official one? Stay tuned~ xD Oh, why here tho? Cause it felt so royalty-ish with the golden interior and suits the birthday girl. Also, the reason we wore yellow.
