The end of Syawal is here, and it's time for me to preserve the lively (and l♡vely) memories we had this past month here in my digital diary~
This year, we only hosted one open house, which was on the first day of Eid, unlike the Raya last two years, when we had open houses every alternate week!
So here's what went down on the first day:
𓍯𓂃𓏧♡ I got up and got ready for one last clean of the lounge, living room, and dining area before plating the desserts while waiting for mom and sisters to finish cooking up the main dishes in the kitchen~ I think the early morning clean ended with clearing the kitchen for easy food top up before finally to beautify ourselves for the day to welcome the guests and our quick family photo sessions.
Just in time after a few minutes of our quick photoshoots, the first guests came. Sooo the party began~ Oh, as usual, the menus are all curated and made by all of us from scratch (well, except stated later on), so we really enjoyed looking at the guests loving each of the bites they had ᥫ᭡.
< Main Menu >
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Nasi Dagang paired with two gulais: egg & fish and prawns*, and acar (pickled Malay salad/ veges).
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Laksa Sarawak with its gravy and condiments of chicken strips, steamed prawns, sliced omelets, lime, blanched bean sprouts, cut chillies, and special sambal.
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Lemang** fusion with a twist of mango salsa we made and serunding on top.
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Ketupat** with beef rendang.
* this isn't widely known, but gulai udang is another classic (or traditional? I'm not sure how to call it) dish to pair with nasi dagang
** not made by us, of course, we just source it out hehe but the rendang and salsa were definitely made by us
< The Desserts >
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Marbled sour cream cake and varieties of lapis legit**
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Blueberry mini entremet
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Talam kacang hijau
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Matcha, chocolate, pistachio kunafa, and earl grey tigre
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Apam balik, sirap bandung, teh tarik and milo dinosaur almond cookies
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Hazelnut bomb cookies
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Strawberry shortcake cookies
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Plum, banana, and apple crumble tarts
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Chocolate and coconut vanilla shooters
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Puding raja with caramelised banana (commercialised ones nowadays almost have no bananas in it, as I know, and turns out mom said originally they have it in)
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Chestnut tiramisu in tray
** this is also outsourced

With the Jentayurians Raya Open House, as usual, it marked the end of Syawal and also our post. Well, thank you for reading my quite messy (I feel so haha since I'm not feeling so good for having a sore throat as I drafted it today, Thursday 24th Apr) Eid write-up up but yeah, this year is full of open houses every other weekend! Thank youuu for the invitations, and also thank you for the warm raya goodies received. Oh, we also received lemang as a gift. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

psst: let's talk a lil bit on the pinkeu outfits on our first day yeah? Proudly letting y'all know that they are all by your designer girl here~ including dad's and lil bro's and also Boo's! Boo's was so shmol 🤏🏻 and cute haha the smallest one I've ever sewn (excluding the barbie dress once made for my assignment a long time ago).
Oh, and yeah my sister's dress is purple this year since she said she'll pair the batik she love, bought at Sarawak with a pink shawl instead and I have nooo objection against that at all cause I love mix and match like that as long as you have something pink on you hehe~
Even mine was a colour block of yellow and pink~ and it's a combo of kurung kedah with a filipinana sleeve and also a variation of my signature skirt from a collection I made years ago that was somehow copied by a local big name brand~
As for my mom's, she requested for something simple with a selendang... and I was like I'm pretty sure a selendang bahu will be common (or netz said awam which I was right!) this raya, hence I opted for something that can differ her shawl from the others... and that's how this capeshawl was born. I searched for what's in the fashion forecast or things that are seen on the runways and this is inspired from the Chanel spring collection that incorporated capes in it. Since capes are also quite common if by itself, then why not combine two common things together and make it uncommon yeah? Also, this year, I tried simple beadings for the hems of the top as I am still a beginner at it but I super love it! Seeing it upclose under the light will be extra magical! And yes, of course I hand-sewn the laces for the cape, too~ (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚Anyway, Mom didn't wear it for easy move to top up food and etc haha~
\/ two ways of wearing the capeshawl /\
My sister said this somehow looks like a Chinese traditional hanfu from the Ming Dynasty~ ok, bye. I should really stop here now haha.

Hope you had a wonderful Eid,
